It was fun making a poster to celebrate our paraprofessional's on their special day. There were other ambassadors that helped make the fun poster. The poster was yellow and we had all the students at LES sign their name on it.
Another job I do is recycling. Mr. Gingerich named our recycling bin, “Jeff the Brute.” When Jeff is full of paper, we empty the paper out in the recycling bins outside to be picked up.
I really want to be in tribe tv. It would be fun to record episodes with friends.
Things I love about LES
Blog by Sydney- 5th grade
I love a lot of things about LES, but the ones I love most are my ambassador jobs, and my classes. My favorite class is probably social studies and science. It’s my favorite because I love watching people experiment and the whole trial and error process. My favorite ambassador job is Mrs. Watkins’ Teacher Aid. Mrs. Watkins is the counselor here at LES, and she is one of the nicest people I’ve met.
What I do at my ambassador jobs
I have two jobs, ambassador blog, and Mrs. Watkins’ assistant. I write the ambassador blog and then email it to Mrs. Watkins for her to publish. For the Mrs. Watkins assistant job, I help her with whatever she needs help with. For Example, one morning she had me take some things to the recycling bin.
Why I like being an ambassador
There are many good things about being an ambassador. They let you choose your job, and there’s also a bunch of different events and holidays we have special days for, such as lunch hero day, which is a day we celebrate our cooks. I think it is very important to appreciate, celebrate and respect the teachers and staff. Also, if I was one of the cooks and the ambassadors had a special event for me and put up cards, I would be happy too!
I like being an ambassador because you get to be a leader and a role model. In being a leader and a role model, I follow the LES Behavior Expectation Matrix and keep track of my ambassador duties.
Another reason why I like to be an ambassador is that I get to do jobs. A favorite job of mine was recycling, which I did last year. My responsibilities in recycling was to keep track of the recycling schedule. Mr. Gingerich organized the recycling crew and schedule.
I also enjoy being an ambassador because I get to attend ambassador meetings. My favorite part of ambassador meetings is when we do Roll Call. Each time we are expected to answer a Roll Call question. An example question is, “what is your favorite sport.”
It’s really fun being an ambassador. I wanted to be an ambassador because I watched last year's ambassadors scraping lunch trays for the younger kids and I thought it looked fun. However, with COVID, ambassadors are unable to help scrape trays. I am hoping that scraping trays is a job for next year.
I am a teacher’s assistant for Mrs. Sleder. It’s fun! It’s fun because I get to cut papers and sort math sheets for Mrs. Sleder. I work once a week in her classroom first thing in the morning. I hope that ambassadors can continue being teacher’s assistants for next year.
It's all about summer! Show us a picture, video, or write about how you want to spend your summer! Enjoy your summer break!
