Mrs. Long's second grade class donated their funds from their book sale to the LES Ambassador program! Their hard work in making their books went along ways to benefit the LES Ambassador program! We are very pleased and excited for the donation! We look forward in using the funds toward LES Ambassador projects!
Ambassadors have one full year under their belt! Mr. Sleder, Mrs. Watkins, and their fellow ambassadors accomplished a lot, had fun, and our creative juices never stopped! LES Ambassador group had tons of energy, ideas, and always wanted to be doing something special!
End of year events were fast and furious! We celebrated Miss. Sheila and Miss. Claudia in April for Secretaries Day. The Ambassadors had fun writing notes to them and decorating their office with balloons and streamers!
NEXT UP, we celebrated May Day with making May Day baskets! We won't tell who were the lucky persons that received these beautiful baskets!
ON THE same day, we celebrated our cafeteria staff with School Lunch Hero Day! We thank them for all they do, especially during this busy time of year of keeping up on all the sack lunches for the multiple field trips!!!
THE ambassadors kept the fun going with celebrating Nurse Cindi for School Nurse week! Ambassadors had fun decorating her window with silly school nurse memes! Thank you Nurse Cindi for always having a warm heart in caring for LES Students!
FOR STAFF snack day, ambassadors made a poster for Mrs. Harding and Mr. Wilson. We all appreciate their hard work and dedication to LES! We wish them continued happiness and success as they move onto their next adventure!
AND FINALLY, we can't forget about our outgoing 5th graders! We wish them well at LMS! We will miss seeing their smiling faces and having their high spirited energy in the building! Fourth grade ambassadors handed out small beach balls to the 5th graders to enjoy this summer. We agree that these beach balls were a hit!
AMBASSADORS took some time to celebrate our group by having an end of year pizza party. Even though our ambassador plate was full this year, next year the plate will be fuller! More jobs, more appreciation, and more fun will be had!!!
Congrats to all former and future ambassadors!!
Please enjoy our photos of the last few months!
Board of Education Appreciation month!
The elementary ambassadors provided a gift to the board members for board appreciation month in January! It was great having students at the board meeting to recognize our board of education for their service. The ambassadors had a fun time making the Tic-Tac-Toe bags!
Ambassador Friendship Heart Exchange For Valentines Day!
The Ambassadors sold Friendship Cards the week before Valentine's Day. They sat t a desk in each camp before school to sell cards. Friendship cards were 25 cents each or 10/$2.00. Students and staff are welcomed to purchased the cards. Student and staff purchased cards for each other and for their own family!
The ambassadors made different die-cut cards for people to chose from. Ambassadors were responsible for in school delivery of the card on Valentines Day. It was a fun week of selling and making students and staff happy! It was a great fundraising idea. Money will be used for future Ambassador projects!
Thank you for supporting the Ambassadors! (sorry, no pictures :(
spring is here!
After spring break the ambassadors got right back to work! They cut out hundreds of paper butterflies for LES students to decorate in preparing for spring. LES ambassadors also decorated the glass board with the quote, "Until you spread your wings, you'll have no idea how far you can fly!" Mrs. Dryden and Mrs. Warrick assisted in our spring time celebration with reading, "Glasswings a Butterfly's Story," by Elisa Kleven. Once the librarians read the story, each student was invited to decorate their butterfly. Once decorated, each student placed their butterfly on the glass board of their choosing. It was fun to see butterflies fill the board!
Volunteer Appreciation week april 8-12
LES Ambassadors hosted a popcorn and lemonade party on April 12 for our school volunteers to show appreciation during volunteer appreciation week! Our volunteers are busy reading, helping with centers, and showing pictures to our LES students all year long. It was fun to celebrate them and all that they do! The ambassadors and volunteers had a nice time getting to know each other in talking about each other's volunteer happenings! The appreciation celebration was a complete success!
Ambassador jobs have been going great at Larned Elementary School! We have been having monthly meeting and we also have been working hard on Christmas Tree Decorations for LES students!
With the help from librarians Mrs. Dryden and Mrs. Warrick, we have put together a wall of colorful snowflakes! All snowflakes are unique, especially on this wall, because each one is made with a different personalty and heart. Each of our snowflakes are unique, but look at what we can do when we stick together! The snowflake wall turned out beautifully!
We have had a lot of new students which means more tours for the ambassadors to give. Some ambassadors have requested a job change. We agreed that job changes will take place for the new year.
Ambassadors were awarded a Mini-Grant from FT. Larned Education Foundation! We are grateful and thankful for this award. We have a few ideas of how we will use this award.
On the agenda for January we will recognize National Law Enforcement day on January 9th. A few ambassadors have volunteered to make cookies for our local Law Enforcement agencies! We are looking forward to celebrating these wonderful people who keep our community safe!
In the past two weeks LES Ambassador Club has been very busy working on lots of projects that benefit our school and community.
Red Ribbon Week was full of fun as the Ambassadors tied spirit week into the same week. Ambassadors asked Pawnee County Sheriff Deputy Bryce and his partner Noa, the drug dog, to visit students at LES. It was fun to learn about Noa! Ambassadors also stayed busy with Red Ribbon week by making drug-free posters and hanging the posters in the halls.
Since November is here and Thanksgiving is right around the corner, the Ambassadors were busy putting up a "thankful wall." Students and staff are asked to write what they are thankful for and put their thankful note on the wall. It has been fun to read the thankful notes!
Last but not least, LES had a turkey hunt and it has been a huge success! The entire school was looking for their assigned hall turkey. All turkeys were found and prizes will be awarded to the winning classes. It was very entertaining hearing and seeing everyone hunt for their turkey.
Along with all of the above projects the ambassadors have been working on, the ambassadors continue to work at their jobs. They are busy with walking buddies, morning announcements, library aides, and we can't forget to mention the recycling workers. A huge thank you goes out to everyone at LES who recycles. I think we can all agree it is fun to see what a difference we are making when it comes to recycling. Keep up the good work LES!
Our Thankful Wall Time lapse. We just started! i know we will make our goal of filling up the board with thanks by thanksgiving!
As you can see, ambassadors were busy making posters for anti-bullying week which was held 10/8/2018-10/12/2018. Ambassadors hung the posters up in the hallways to remind students to continue to be kind to one another.
Ambassadors have been very busy this past nine weeks with showing appreciation to Information Technology staff and Custodial staff by making a big poster for each of them to display. Ambassadors also picked up a new job with the "walking buddy" program held every morning before school begins. Ambassadors helped with recognizing Teacher of the Month, Support Staff of the Month, and Student of the Month for the month of September.
Ambassadors have been meeting twice a month to organize their jobs and projects.
They continue to raise money for the coin drive for various projects they are doing.
Currently, ambassadors are preparing for Red Ribbon week which is October 22-26. They are also working on a "Thankful" project for the month of November.
More updates to come!
Ambassadors began their jobs the beginning of September. Morning greeters and morning camp helpers have been very busy welcoming students to school and making mornings better. Many students have started making a game of morning greeting times of trying to catch their high 5! The morning greeters tell students and staff, "good morning," at least 50 times every morning!
Bowtie day!!!! 8/28/2018
LES Ambassadors kicked off their year with celebrating Bow Tie day! It was a hit all over school. Mr. Jones helped us celebrate the day by teaching his students how to tie a bow tie. All students had the opportunity to color a bow tie and clip it onto their shirt. We hope to continue this tradition.
